I don’t think there is anyone out there that isn’t familiar with eBay (https://ebay.com) at this point. You can buy and sell pretty much anything on there, and sports cards are no exception. Despite all of the more industry focused options coming out, eBay still remains the most common and well used, which is a big part of why most of the tools in existence use their sold price data.
The biggest thing eBay has going for it over all of the other marketplaces, is definitely the number of buyers and the volume of cards moved. If you’re selling, you definitely want the most eyes possible on your item, especially if you’ve chosen to move it via an Auction.
Keep in mind when you sell on eBay, you’re going to be giving them 13 to 15% of the purchase price in fees in order to use their service.
